In the spotlight
The European Commission has introduced a series of new Implementing Acts to support the recently updated F-gas Regulation (EU) 2024/573.
Key updates include a new labelling format for F-gas containers and equipment set to take effect in January 2025. Until then, the existing rules from the previous regulation will apply. Additionally, a new annual reporting format will be required from March 2025, covering data from 2024 and integrated into the F-gas Portal.
Certification requirements for technicians will be expanded, including requirements on working with alternative refrigerants, such as hydrocarbons, CO2 and ammonia. Six new certification types will be introduced, and Member States have one year to update their programmes. Updates to the F-gas Portal will streamline operations with clearer rules for registrations and data management.
