Climate Action

On 1 October 2026, Wopke Hoekstra, Commissioner for Climate, Net-Zero and Clean Growth, met with 16 young people from across Europe for a Youth Policy Dialogue on COP31 to exchange views ahead of the UN climate conference taking place in Antalya, Türkiye from 9 to 20 November.

Europe’s transition to climate neutrality must be fair. However, many households living in rural areas, or in places with limited access to public transport, struggle to cover everyday transport costs.

On 24 September 2026, the Commission published the final Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) for its second Europe-wide auction for projects decarbonising industrial process heat (IF26 Heat Auction).
