Updated information on Exchange and International Credit Use in the EU ETS

The aggregate number of international credits exchanged amounts to 410.80 million since the exchange function has become operational in March 2014. This is an increase of 0.50 million credits compared to the aggregate number of international credits.

The aggregate number of international credits exchanged amounts to 410.80 million since the exchange function has become operational in March 2014. This is an increase of 0.50 million credits compared to the aggregate number of international credits exchanged that was published in May 2016.

Since 31 March 2015, only credits issued in respect of emissions reductions generated during the second commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol (so-called "CP2-credits") can be exchanged in the EU ETS.

The overall CP2 credits exchanged since March 2014 were 25.44 million Certified Emission Reductions (CERs).
