Executive Vice-President Frans Timmermans travels to Vietnam for a three-day visit

Executive Vice-President Frans Timmermans is travelling to Vietnam tomorrow, where he will discuss the green transition with representatives of the government.

After arriving in Vietnam on Thursday, the Executive Vice-President will meet the country’s Deputy Prime Minister, Mr Le Van Thanh and Minister for Natural Resources and the Environment, Mr Tran Hong Ha. On Friday, he will meet with Prime Minister, Mr Phạm Minh Chính; Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Nguyen Hong Dien, and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr Le Minh Hoan. Mr Timmermans will also attend a working breakfast with the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) on green business, followed by a visit to an organic agriculture project supported by EU funds. On Saturday, the Executive Vice-President will visit the Hanoi metro, a sustainable mobility project supported by the European Union, and VinFast where he will meet the management and get an insight into the manufacturer’s net zero and sustainable development agenda and their plans to expand their electric car and bus business.
