Description
BERLAYMONT, rue de la Loi 200, 1040 Brussels – Walter Hallstein room (first floor)
The event will provide an update on the international framework and institutional set up for the UNFCCC Technology Transfer Mechanism. Practitioners from the public and private sector will provide insights on the key requirements for a successful involvement of the private sector in technology development and transfer. A special emphasis will be on market-creation, frugal innovation and first-of-a-kind applications in developing countries. Practical examples will focus on cooperation with key partner countries, such as India. Objectives of the workshop are:
- Generate a better understanding among all participants on the issues, challenges and opportunities for successful technology transfer activities
- Raise awareness among stakeholders of the UNFCCC Technology Mechanism and encourage their co-operation with the Climate Technology Centre & Network (CTCN)
While the workshop sessions in the morning link the UNFCCC process with cooperative action, the afternoon will focus on the CTCN and the work of NDEs (National Designated Entities) in the EU.
The conference admittance is free of charge. To register, please email Sylviane [dot] De-Potterec [dot] europa [dot] eu (Sylviane[dot]De-Potter[at]ec[dot]europa[dot]eu). We ask you to register early since places are limited.
