Procurement of second common auction platform for carbon allowance auctions in final stages

The contract with the European Energy Exchange (EEX) as the transitional common auction platform for 25 Member States expires on 22 August 2016.

The joint procurement by the Commission and the 25 participating Member States to appoint a second common auction platform is in its final stages.

Further information about the modalities of the transition to the second common auction platform will be published on this website by 15 July 2016.

As explained in the current 2016 auction calendar, all auction dates after the expiry of the transitional common auction platform contract are tentative and subject to confirmation by the second common platform following its appointment.
