All European citizens, organized stakeholders, industries, institutions, NGOs and public authorities of Member States are welcome to contribute to this consultation. |
From 03 June 2009 to 03 August 2009 |
The purpose of this consultation is to seek stakeholder views on the adoption of the forthcoming Regulation (hereinafter the 'Regulation') setting out the modalities for the EU-wide auctioning of emission allowances. The Commission is committed to an inclusive approach when developing and implementing EU policies. Member States, emitters of greenhouse gases (GHGs), in particular CO2 otherwise known as carbon, that are covered by the European Union's Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) and other stakeholders, including non-governmental organisations involved in the implementation of the EU ETS, as well as participants in the European carbon market, have valuable information and experience to contribute to the Commission's decision making process. Their views may inform the Commission how to design and implement EU-wide carbon auctions and how to draft the Regulation. |
In the interests of transparency, the Commission asks organisations who wish to submit comments in the context of public consultations to provide the Commission and the public at large with information about whom and what they represent by registering in the Register of Interest representatives and subscribing to its Code of Conduct. If an organisation decides not to provide this information, it is the Commission's stated policy to list the contribution as part of the individual contributions. (Consultation Standards, see COM (2002) 704, and Communication on ETI Follow-up, see COM (2007) 127 of 21 Mar 2007) If your organisation is not registered, you have the opportunity to Register now. Then return to this page to submit your contribution as a Registered organisation. Received contributions will be published on the Internet. It is important to read the specific privacy statement attached to this consultation for information on how your personal data and contribution will be dealt with. |
