Description
Under the framework of the Carbon Removal and Carbon Farming Regulation - which will establish an EU-wide voluntary framework for certifying carbon removals, carbon farming and carbon storage in products generated in Europe - the Commission, supported by an Expert Group on carbon removals, is working on developing tailored EU certification methodologies for different types of activities.
This dedicated workshop on Biochar Carbon Removal Certification Methodology Development will identify best practices and challenges in developing certification methodologies for permanent carbon removals from biochar.
We will present a review of existing methodologies and discuss key issues related to methodology development and QU.A.L.ITY criteria. These discussions will feed into the ongoing work on the development of an EU methodology for biochar carbon removal.
