All citizens and organisations were welcome to contribute to this public consultation.

It is carried out in addition to a targeted consultation where opinions and data were collected from businesses and authorities.

Contributions are particularly sought from:

  • industry players dealing with alternatives to ozone-depleting substances
  • business associations
  • research / education institutions dealing with alternatives to ozone-depleting substances
  • authorities at local, regional or national level
  • legal experts on EU and international law
  • citizens/ consumers
  • non-governmental organisations

From 01 June 2018 to 24 August 2018

Objective of the consultation

The objectives of the consultation are, to:

  • ensure that all affected and interested stakeholders have the possibility to participate in the consultation;
  • allow stakeholders to provide their feedback on the implementation of the Ozone Regulation;
  • collect data and views in order to understand how and why various measures of the Regulation have or have not led to the expected results;
  • get information on the experience of the affected stakeholders in acting in line with the Regulation, in particular the costs and the benefits of compliance;
  • complement collected data by information on alternatives used by industry for exempted uses (i.e. process agent use, critical use and laboratory use).
How to submit your contribution

In the interests of transparency, the Commission asks organisations who wish to submit comments in the context of public consultations to provide the Commission and the public at large with information about whom and what they represent by registering in the Transparency Register and subscribing to its Code of Conduct. If an organisation decides not to provide this information, it is the Commission's stated policy to list the contribution as part of the individual contributions. (Consultation Standards, see COM (2002) 704, and Communication on ETI Follow-up, see COM (2007) 127 of 21/03/2007). If your organisation is not registered, you have the opportunity to Register now.

Only responses received through the online questionnaire will be taken into account and included in the summary report. The online questionnaire will allow respondents to upload a document, such as a position paper. This document will be published together with the response.

Received contributions will be published on the Internet. It is important to read the specific privacy statement attached to this consultation for information on how your personal data and contribution will be dealt with.
