The Directorate-General for Climate Action is launching a public consultation on two forthcoming Commission regulations related to the implementation of the EU Emissions Trading System. These are a Regulation on Monitoring and Reporting of greenhouse gases and a Regulation on Accreditation of verifiers and on Verification of annual emission reports.
The key objectives of these regulations are the need to ensure an improved common approach throughout the EU, greater consistency, transparency, reliability and cost-effectiveness. The consultation aims at obtaining the views of individuals and organisations on the relevance and possible impact of the proposed legislation. It will remain online until the 10th June.
