Within the framework of the preparations for the Cancún Climate Conference (29 November-10 December 2010), Commissioner Hedegaard told members of the European Parliament meeting in plenary yesterday that "the legally-binding deal that the EU was ready for last year and that we are still ready for will, unfortunately, not be the outcome of Cancún - not because of us, but because others are not ready for it.
