All EU Member States can now allocate free allowances to their industrial installations for 2013, following the European Commission's adoption today of a decision on national allocation tables for the last group of Member States.

In addition, some Member States have started allocating for 2014. The Commission has written to Member States inviting them to inform the public in advance, via their website, on when they will start handing out 2014 allowances.

To provide transparency about the progress in allocation of 2014 allowances, a new set of Questions and Answers has been uploaded in the FAQ section of the free allocation page.

Furthermore, starting later this week a regularly updated overview table showing the number of allowances that have been allocated per Member State will be published on the Documentation section of the free allocation page.
