Today, the European Commission adopted a decision on the revised National Allocation Plan (NAP) for the period 2008-2012 of the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS). The NAP was submitted in September by Estonia. The Commission did not raise any objections as this NAP is in line with the methodology and requirements in the EU ETS Directive and based on the most recent emissions data.

The annual average quantity of allowances according to this plan amounts to 13,301,720 tonnes, while the initial Commission decision of May 2007 allowed for an amount of 12,717,058 tonnes.
