EEX and ICE have today published their 2017 calendars for the auctions of aviation allowances.
Aviation allowances
The total quantity of aviation allowances to be auctioned amounts to 4,730,500. This amount does not include allowances of the EEA-EFTA States and is comprised as follows:

An additional amount of 1,318,646.allowances is to be auctioned by the EEA-EFTA States for the years 2012 to 2017. The modalities for auctioning these allowances are still in discussion with the EEA-EFTA States.
The 2017 auction volumes of aviation allowances are determined on the basis of Article 28a(3) of the ETS Directive and in line with the Commission proposal reviewing the scope of the EU ETS for aviation which takes into account the outcome of the 2016 ICAO Assembly, adopted on 2 February 2017 (COM(2017)54).
Coordination
The European Commission closely coordinated the determination of the auction calendars with Member States and the auction platforms.
