Description
The agreement, which is to be completed by the end of 2015 and to apply from 2020, is being negotiated through a process known as the Durban Platform for Enhanced Action. The negotiations were launched under UN auspices at the end of 2011.
All stakeholders were invited to participate in the conference and contribute their views on the planned agreement. The conference was also webstreamed. Connie Hedegaard, European Commissioner for Climate Action, and Irish Environment Minister Phil Hogan were among the speakers.
The discussions focused on the questions raised in the Consultative Communication on the 2015 agreement which the Commission published on 26 March 2013. The stakeholder conference formed part of an online consultation which will run until 26 June.
The event was webstreamed.
