Description
The Commission launched ECCP II with a stakeholder Conference, held on 24 October 2005 in Brussels. The conference was attended by over 450 delegates representing a broad spectrum of stakeholders. In the Plenary Session, Commissioner Dimas for the Environment presented the Commission’s view on further development of EU climate policy.
In a number of parallel sessions (see program), stakeholders discussed key areas of current and future European climate change policy, including ECCP I review, geological carbon capture and storage, adaptation, aviation, passenger road transport, energy efficiency, renewable energy and technology policy. In the parallel sessions the following draft mandates were presented and discussed:

- Integrated approach to reduce CO2 emissions from light-duty vehicles
