Description
During Climate Diplomacy Week, EU Delegations and embassies of several EU Member States around the world hold various events to foster dialogue and cooperation on climate change, showcase success stories and inspire further action.
Events organised during the week will include conferences, citizens’ debates, exhibitions, film screenings and other outreach activities bringing together a wide range of stakeholders and communities.
A key theme this year will be the Talanoa Dialogue – a facilitative process to take stock of the collective and individual efforts towards the goals of the Paris Agreement on climate change. Running throughout 2018, the Talanoa Dialogue is a key moment focus on the solutions and potential associated with the low-carbon transformation.
Two Climate Diplomacy Weeks take place in 2018: from 18 to 24 June and from 24 to 30 September.
The Climate Diplomacy Week in June will follow the high-level 'EU for Talanoa' conference on 13 June and coincide with important events on the international climate agenda, including the Petersberg Climate Dialogue on 17-19 June, the Ministerial on Climate Action on 20-21 June and the high-level event on climate security hosted by HRVP Federica Mogherini on 22 June.
