<p>The ECCP Working Group 6 ("Reducing greenhouse gas emissions from ships") aims at providing input to the Commission in its work to develop and assess options for the inclusion of international maritime transport emissions in the EU's greenhouse gas reduction commitment. Within the context of this specific meeting, the objectives of this meeting were to present views, information, concerns and engage in an active discussion on relevant topics such as: the main possible policy options, emission reduction levels, access to international credits, possible legal issues and regional action as a platform for broader action.</p>

This meeting was the last of a series of three meetings of the ECCP Working Group 6. Stakeholders are encouraged to continue providing input to the Commission's work on developing and assessing options for reducing greenhouse gas emissions from ships through an online public consultation which will be launched in the course of December 2011.
