The 31st UN Climate Change Conference (COP31) will be hosted by Türkiye in Antalya from 9 to 20 November 2026. Australia will act as ‘President of Negotiations’.
COP31 brings global partners together to align efforts and sustain ambitious climate action. It is an important opportunity to highlight the increasing momentum behind the clean energy transition and the shared benefits of climate policies.
Science is clear. We must continue to cut emissions rapidly and deeply. Staying as close as possible to 1.5°C, and getting back below 1.5°C, remains our goal.
The EU is staying the course. We are on track to achieve our 2030 emissions target and become climate neutral by 2050.
Implementation matters. Now is the time to turn commitments into action, accelerate the clean transition, and deliver on the Paris Agreement.
Protecting people now. COP31 must show that we are building climate resilience and strengthening adaptation to support people and communities, especially the most vulnerable.
Building for the future. In a changing global economy, we need international cooperation, shared solutions, and investment to build more secure, affordable, and resilient economies and societies.
No one can succeed alone. Let’s work together as partners. We will keep doing our part, and we trust other Parties to do theirs, to secure our shared future.

- 55% net greenhouse gas emissions by2030.00
- 90% net greenhouse gas emissions by2040.00
- Climate neutrality by2050.00
‘This COP must focus on turning the commitments we have made into concrete progress and implementation. We need to build trust, strengthen multilateral cooperation, and engage constructively with all partners, including where we have differences. We must accelerate clean electrification globally and uphold scientific standards.’
Wopke Hoekstra, EU Commissioner for Climate, Net Zero and Clean Growth
