Why do we publish this report? The European Commission monitors and assesses progress in meeting climate targets, as required by EU legislation. Under Articles 29(1) and 29(5) of the Governance Regulation, it must assess and report on progress annually by the end of October, starting from 2021. This Climate Action Progress Report serves as this assessment.
