Workshop on livestock methodology

On 4 February 2026, DG CLIMA is hosting a half-day workshop to present the on-going work to develop a pilot EU certification methodology for livestock emission reductions. This work is in the context of the assessment whether to include GHG emission reductions from livestock activities in the scope of the Carbon Removals and Carbon Farming (CRCF) Regulation.

The purpose of the workshop is to present a Technical Assessment Paper, reviewing current methodologies, scientific literature, mitigation practices, EU policies, and case studies, which will inform the pilot methodology; the findings from previous stakeholders’ engagement activities, including the most recent public survey, will also be discussed.
