Commemoration ceremony – EU Day for the Victims of the Global Climate Crisis

On 15 July, the third annual EU Day for the Victims of the Global Climate Crisis, the EU will honour those lost to and affected by the climate crisis with a ceremony held in Brussels.

The ceremony will take place in the European Commission’s Berlaymont building and feature contributions from officials and civil society including:

  • Teresa Ribera, European Commission Executive Vice-President for a Clean, Just and Competitive Transition
  • Lars Aagaard, Danish Minister for Climate, Energy and Utilities
  • Antonio Decaro, MEP and Chair of European Parliament’s Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety
  • Benjamin Van Bunderen Robberechts, Climate activist and Climate Justice for Rosa Founder

The event will conclude with a minute of silence and a live musical performance by Bartu Elci-Ozsoy, violinist and European Climate Pact Ambassador.

The ceremony can be followed live on the European Commission channels.
