IF26 Hydrogen Auction: have your say on the Draft T&Cs!
The Draft Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) of the IF26 Hydrogen Auction are now available for public consultation.
Stakeholders can provide feedback via the dedicated EU Survey until 24 August 2026.
This feedback will feed into the final design of the auction, which is expected to be launched by the end of 2026.
Following the public consultation, the Commission will organise a webinar to present and discuss the feedback received.
IF26 Heat Auction
A second round of the IF Heat Auction will be held in 2026 with a budget of €1 billion. For more information, please consult our Competitive bidding page.

Open calls
There are currently no open Innovation Fund calls. Calls typically open at the end of the year. Check below for further information on past calls.
Grants and Auctions as a Service (AaaS)
When calls open, Member States have the option to allocate additional national budgets to fund extra projects on their territory, thereby benefiting from a simplified State aid assessment procedure.

Previous calls
- 4 December 2025IF25 Calls for Proposals
The Commission launched three calls for proposals, including one regular call and two auctions. A total of €5.2 billion from EU Emission Trading System revenues have been made available for funding.
- 3 December 2024IF24 Calls for proposals
The Commission launched two regular calls for proposals and an auction under the Innovation Fund, making €4.6 billion in EU Emission Trading System revenues available for funding.
- 23 November 2023IF23 Calls for proposals
The Commission launched the IF23 Call for Net-Zero technologies and the pilot IF23 Auction for hydrogen production under the European Hydrogen Bank on 23 November 2023. A total of €4 billion in support from the EU Emission Trading System was made available for projects.
- 2020 and 2023Before the IF23 Call
Between 2020-2023, the Commission held 3 large-scale and 3 small-scale calls for proposals.
